Party Products

Today hasn’t really started too well and now I’m bored out of my mind, so once again I am staring at the interweb looking at mindless nonsense. Anyway I thought I should start getting a few things together for birthdays etc so I started searching for party products for the boys.

There are loads of party products to choose from, once site had absolutely everything!  There were banners, balloons, napkins and much much more.  I thought I would put together a big bag for each of my boys so when they have their birthday parties they would have everything they would need.

I hope it is worth it I couldn’t believe the checkout total, for some hats, napkins, and balloons and other bits and pieces the total came to £80 quid! They even gave me free delivery because I spent so much.  Next year I think I will make my own stuff.

Not sure if today is going to end any better as my foot still hurts from that nail!

Reception Furniture

After I had finished measuring up the windows outside I wondered in doors to settle down for the evening.  On my way in one thing I noticed was my lack of reception furniture.  I had a coat rack and a mirror on the wall.

I took a minute and pictured how I could improve the feel of the reception area.  Maybe a small side table for my mail, notes and magazines etc?

I wasn’t really sure but then again why would a self respecting ex assassin worry about how his reception looked, maybe I was getting old.  Either way, I looked through the Argos and little woods catalogues and found absolutely nothing.  I spent two hours going round and round the IKEA website until I was dizzy.  What the reception and the rest of the house needs is a women’s touch.

To be honest I am not in any rush to get any reception furniture just yet as I still have to strip the walls and paint everything else.

New Cutains

Finally the whole Christmas feeling has passed and New Year has settled in lovely, the snow has gone and the days are starting to get warmer and longer.  I have made a list of things to do, one of which is to sort the living area with some new curtains.

The problem is, where do I start, what do I know about curtains?  The short answer is “Not very much”, so thank you for the internet, with a cup of tea, a slice of ginger cake I got on line, looked through a few examples and found a nice simple pattern that suits my home.

With a click here and a click there and a card number they were ordered. If I am happy with the first set of curtains I will order some more for the rest of the house. I was tempted to go for blinds, but given what I found, I am confident they will look good.

The site I found was easy to navigate and delivery was only £4.95, BARGAIN!

Education in London

It has been a few hours now and I have made some really good process with my new voip phones but it is doing my head in now so I think it is time to do something else.  One of my boys left me a note in his present about a place called Sixth Form College London; to be honest I had never heard of it.

Nevertheless I jumped onto the laptop and started looking into it. My boy wanted my advice about what Sixth form college to attend.  I didn’t really gain many qualifications in my youth but it makes me feel happy that my boy wants my opinion, also what parent doesn’t care about their Childs education.

I don’t really know what he wants to be when he grows up but college in London is without doubt a step in the right direction, hopefully he will go on to achieve great things.

Cookware for Christmas

As it is nearly the big day I thought I would give the kitchen a good clean ready for the enormous festive meal I am going to prepare myself. That’s right me, myself and I.

While I was thrashing around to the Goo Goo Dolls greatest hits and cleaning all the surfaces within my kitchen cupboard I gradually filled up the sink with all various cookware that I would need for Friday.

I didn’t realise how much cookware I had accumulated over the years, luckily I had all the right bits and pieces I needed for Fridays gut stuffing extravaganza.

There were many items that I had brought or collected two or three times, so I boxed them up as complete sets.  What I am planning to do is send them the east side of the forest where things are a little tougher and a few of the families there struggle this time of yeah, hopefully a few kitchen extra’s will help.

So I cleaned and polished when necessary all the cookware I needed and even left a few items out on display just to give the kitchen a little more character.

Royalmail – Package missing in action

How annoyed am I, having ordered three photo books; spending hours putting them together,  sent them off yesterday for pre noon delivery and the boys sent me an email saying they had not received them.

I rumbled through the rubbish bin and dug out the bit of paper with the tracking details on (I never keep them) , logged onto the Royal-Snail website and checked where the package was.  The details on the screen said something about missing in transit.

I phoned royal mail (with my number withheld of course) and tried to find out what the crocodile hat what going on.mail

First the automated line told me that hold forever and that someone will be with me shortly, some other spillage about strikes, and then cut me off.

Very annoyed now I redialled, finally I got through to someone who was very polite and apologised for my missing photo books.  Because they were sent my special delivery I can claim back the cost, lucky for them.

SO! I went back to the web and reordered the books, luckily I had only filled them with high res photo copies.
